“We’ve come a long way!!
Do you remember the slogan; “You’ve come a long way Virginia Slim”?Well, so has your chapter!
Remember the good old days?
- Going to an event and trying to find your name on 3 – 6 different clipboards?
- Searching for your name, but not knowing which clipboard you’re on this month?
- Trying to find out if your membership is current, needs to be renewed, or if it lapsed?
- Did I mention the long lines?
- What a nightmare! Am I right?
Getting Ready
A lot of planning goes into our dances and special events. Event registration is one of the most important services we provide you as a member. Your dance experience starts at the registration table, and we want to make sure it’s positive. Here is where you not only pay for your attendance, but you also get information about membership, products and services, and more. You can also get answers to questions and provide feedback on how we’re doing!
What makes our registration desk successful, efficient, and awesome? Simply put, it’s a VOLUNTEER who:
- is friendly and creates an inviting registration experience
- knows members by their first name
- engages with members while still working the desk
- knows all facets of the registration software
- makes sure the Wi-Fi is active and the signal is strong
- records your event payment, whether you use cash, debit card, credit card or pay online.
- assesses the success of the event, using membership reports, registration data and other
metrics that provide actionable insight to the board. - Did we mention they do all of this while engaging members?
Did you know? The registration desk is never closed, which means many times the volunteer is a forgotten dancer. Please remember to ask them to dance, and please be patient if they’re out on the floor enjoying a dance. They’ll be right back.
Registration is the first step (dance step) to a great evening.
