USA Dance is a national nonprofit organization with over 150 chapters, and over 200,000 dancers and volunteers with a common mission to promote, guide and support social and competitive ballroom dance programs throughout the nation.
The Tallahassee USA Dance Chapter 6010 is part of the largest district in the nation with approximately 150 members and membership is growing. The chapter serves as a leader and focal point for ballroom dance activities within the local and surrounding communities, creating local dance opportunities for the public by organizing affordable workshops, social dances, and providing free dance lessons.
Mark your calendar for the USA Dance Charity Ball that benefits the Tallahassee Senior Services (www.TallhasseeSeniorFoundation.org) on June 15, followed by the next dances Heat Wave, July 20, and Denim & Pearls on Aug. 17.
Dance entry fees are members $8; non-member $14. With each paid admission, complimentary beginner/intermediate lessons are offered from 6:30-7:15 p.m., snacks are served, and social dancing is 7:30-10 p.m., at the Tallahassee Senior Center auditorium, 1400 Monroe St.
The ’30s, ’40s, and the ’50s, brought us three decades of fabulous dancing. Regardless of your age, dancing will be an excellent learning experience in discipline, appreciation and understanding of music’s rhythm and tempos, poise and balance, assuredness, and self-confidence.
